Big news — ARKOSE IV acquired by the Detroit Institute of Arts

I’m incredibly honored to share that ARKOSE IV has been selected for acquisition by the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA).

This piece was created in March 2022 during my residency at the Flint Institute of Arts, supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.

During my time there, I was deeply inspired by the Michigan landscape — the old apple trees, the soil, and the traces of early spring. Each morning on my way to the studio, I collected branches, leaves, and soil from the surroundings. I burned the materials, mixed the ashes with sifted earth and stone, and applied them to the glass surface during the final heating. This process gave the piece its dark, earthy skin — a reflection of place, memory, and transformation.

It means so much to see this work find a permanent home at one of the most significant art museums in the U.S. — and in the same state where it was created.

A heartfelt thank you to the Flint Institute of Arts, the Danish Arts Foundation, and Simone DeSousa Gallery for their incredible support and effort in making this happen
